Minnie Catherine Slagle was born 12 January 1860 in Jefferson, Frederick County, Maryland She was the daughter of Henry Mathias Slagle and Catherine Ann Virginia Rice. She moved with her family to Howard County, Maryland in 1885. Minnie married Jesse T. Brandenburg, 4 November 1891, probably in Howard County. Jesse died in 1896,leaving her with two children. She never remarried. She died 1 November 1944 in Howard County, Maryland. obituary (unknown newspaper)"Mrs. Minnie C. Brandenburg, widow of Jesse T. Brandenburg, Lisbon, died Wednesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Tucker, Poplar Springs, aged 84 years nine months and 18 days. She was a daughter of the late Henry M. and Catherine V. Slagle. Surviving are a daughter Miss LaRue Brandenburg, Richmond, Va. a son Henry S. Brandenburg, Sykesville; four brothers, Martin and Fulton Slagle, Lisbon; Rev. Arthur E. Slagle, Baltimore; and George R. Slagle, Baltimore (this is wrong); a sister Mrs. Hayes Dempsey, Baltimore. Funeral services Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at the home in Lisbon with further services in Lisbon Methodist Church, Rev. J.W. Baxley and Rev. Mr. Fitch will officiate. Interment in McKendree cemetery, C. M. Waltz, funeral director.
