JOSEPH H. DENNIS

DARLINGTON, Ind., March 20 - Joseph H. Dennis, age 85, died at the home of his niece, Mrs. Kate Rogers, here Thursday evening. He suffered a stroke of apoplexy last Sunday and steadily grew worse until his death.
He is survived by his wife, with whom, last September, he celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary. He was born in Indianapolis and a one time was civil engineer for the waterworks company. He constructed the first cable street railway in St. Louis. He lived in Darlington for eight years.

Mr. Dennis lived in Newcastle for several years, owning and operating a drug store at the corner and now occupied by the Mowrer drug store. He was well known among the older residents of this city.
