Raymond was living in Kent, Washington, at the time of his death. He got interested in riding and owning a motorcycle. His friends tried to talk him out of riding one but Raymond declined their advice. Shortly after Raymond bought a new motorcycle and started riding it, he tried to stop at a stop sign and slid on some gravel right into an oncoming car. Raymond was one of the nicest people anyone could meet. Ray was appointed to Nebraska Boy's State in 1947.
