d/o Samuel Robert Ford and Anna Sophronia (Arnold) Ford. Jan 10,1912, Nettie married Benjamin Harrison Noland, Oregon, Holt Co, MO. They had 8 children, all born at home. Children listed in Benjamin's memorial. Ben and Nettie lived in MO until 1913, when they moved to Bedford, Taylor County, IA. In 1914, moved to Tabor, Fremont County, IA. In 1915 they moved to Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie,,County, IA, where the children attended the Pottawattamie School System, at the Meadow Brook and Lake Manawa Schools. In 1938/1939, they moved to Denver, CO.
Nettie became employed at Colorado General Hospital - now the University of Colorado Medical Center, for several years in the Housekeeping Dept. April 14,1976, Ben died of a Respiratory condition and was buried in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Nettie continued to live in the home, alone. After several falls, the family decided she shouldn't live alone. In the fall of 1977, she moved into the home of her son, Robert. Robert died suddenly of a heart attack, 1/15/1978 and Nettie moved to the home of her daughter, Ruby, in Lakewood, CO. She was very lonely and lost without her husband of over 64 years. They had celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary, 1/10/1962.
Here she was alone while Ruby and her husband "Griff" were working. In September, 1978, she had a bad fall and broke her pelvic bone. After surgery, she was sent to a Nursing home, where she fell again and broke her hip, in October, 1978. After she recovered, she was sent to Mile High Nursing home, where she remained about three years.
Nettie passed away, 2/26/1982, when her heart just gave out, 89 years and 3 months old. She was buried in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, in Littleton, Colorado, next to her husband.
In October, 1971, her son, Jesse and wife, Emma gave Nettie a plane trip to Iowa to see her family there. It was her first Commercial flight, at the age Of 86 years and 10 months, which she enjoyed very much.
