William P. Knoles died at his home at 1101 North Main, Kingman, Kansas on Sunday, May 15th, 1921, aged 53 [sic?] years, and 28 days.

Mr. Knoles had been ailing for a number of months and recently had been receiving treatment at the Wichita hospital up until a short while before his death, when he was feeling so much improved that he came home, encouraged to believe that had been permanently benefitted and was quite hopeful and cheerful at the outlook.

Sunday, he partook of a hearty meal at the noon hour, and seemed in his old time cheerful mood. After dinner, he went to his room and laid down upon his bed for an after dinner rest. In a few minutes, a member of the family chanced to look in where he was lying apparently in a peaceful and restful sleep, when they discovered that he had passed away, apparently without a struggle, and without warning to any member of the household. Death probably resulting from heart-weakness.

W.P. Knoles was born at Greenview, Illinois, April 17, 1869, and continued to make that his home until he had arrived at adult age.

On the 28th day of Febuary, 1894, he was united in marriage with Miss Cora Bradley, his now bereaved wife. To them, two children were born and with the mother survive to mourn the loss of a devoted husband and father.

The surviving children are their son, James, and daughter, Miss Velma, both residing at Kingman, James having assumed the management of the dairy business recently conducted by the father and Miss Velma being engaged in teaching.

The family first came to Kingman about nine years ago, and for a while resided in Hoosier township, and engaged in farming, later coming to Kingman about five years ago and engaged in the dairy business.

Mr. Knoles was a splendid christian gentleman and a valued member of society and many will mourn on account of his death.

Funeral services were held at the residence.

The body was taken to his old home at Greenview, Illinois for interment with his wife and his son, James, and daughter, Velma, accompanying the body of their loved one on the sorrowful journey.
