Funeral services for James ``Jim'' P. Swanson will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 1996, in Bateman Carroll Funeral Chapel in Gresham. He died July 20 of a heart attack at age 55.
Born March 5, 1941, in Portland, Mr. Swanson was raised in the Beaverton area. He graduated in 1959 from Beaverton High School, attended Portland State University and served in the Air Force Reserve. He owned and operated Edmark's Mower and Bicycle Shop for five years and then worked at Ingersoll-Rand Equipment Co. for 19 years. He married Ruth Anne Parker in 1966. He served as treasurer of the Cascade Sports Car Club.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Gregory J. and Eric, and mother, Frances, all of Portland; and brother, Gene A. of Bellevue, Wash.
Private interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Corbett. The family suggests contributions be to the Cascade Sports Car Club or Doernbechers Children's Hospital Fund.
