Lewis Deo "Deacon" Greathouse, 68, of Grantsville, died Friday, Dec.
13, 1996, at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center.
He was born at Mt. Zion, a son of the late James William and Lydia
Shaffer Greathouse.
Surviving are his wife, Goldie Starcher Greathouse; five sons, Roger
Starcher of Copperas Cove, Tex., Richard Starcher of Creston, Donald
Starcher, Arnold Greathouse and Ronald Greathouse, all of
Grantsville; three daughters, Linda Carpenter of Mt. Zion, Debbie
Sampson and Judy Hall, both of Grantsville; two brothers, Simon
Greathouse of Grantsville and Burl Greathouse of Alexander City,
Ala.; one sister, Gwendolyn Smith of Jeannette, Pa.; and 10
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Willard Greathouse, Okie
Greathouse, Ernest Greathouse and Thurman Greathouse; and three
sisters, Mildred Greathouse, Mary Greathouse and Mary Simmons.
Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev.
Phillip Hickman, Rev. Alfred Hickman and Rev. D.L. Kerby officiating.
Burial was in St. Paul Cemetery.
