Patty had a good heart and was always concerned for all in the family. She had many funny stories to tell but the one about her brother buying her plaid shoes just tickles me, he (who is my husband) bought her a pair of ugly plaid shoes that she hated, and she was forced to wear because HE bought them for her, her mother said. She never forgave him for that. And probably still hold a grudge for that which I think will haunt him for a while. I know know that I will assist in that haunting.
Patty fought a valiant fight against cancer and refused to go on any one's time table but her own, she passed quietly at home where she wanted to be. While she was in the hospice her Daughter Tara stayed night and day, and her sisters Anna, Helen & Ruth did the same. Many of her nieces came also to help relieve the others. It seems so strange not to hear her voice on the other end of the phone saying "UH Mrs. Pieffer did you forget to do something," if I had had a doctors appointment or test done.
She was a special person and will be missed, she is in a better place now with no more pain.
Rest dear sister in law you deserve it.
She was cremated and her ashes given to the family.
