JAMES AUBREY RHODES, 66, of Millington, formerly of Decatur, Ala., civil service employee for the Department of Defense, died of lung cancer Saturday at Sycamore View Nursing Home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel with burial in Bethuel Cemetery in Millington. He was first sergeant of the 908 tactical group, was voted Outstanding Airman of the Year in 1974 and 1981, and was a Korean War Air Force veteran. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 748 and Kerrville Methodist Church, and was active in Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Rhodes, the husband of Margaret Mary Rhodes, also leaves a daughter, Catherine M. Nalan of Bartlett; two sons, James A. Rhodes Jr. of Waco, Texas, and Kevin C. Rhodes of Columbia, Tenn.; two brothers, Everett Rhodes of Bartlett and Curtis Rhodes of Collierville, and five grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Disabled American Veterans, The Salvation Army or a charity of the donor's choice.
