Charles Wesley Wells, 81, died this morning at 9:30 o'clock at the home of his granddaughter, Mrs Roy Smith, near Wayside, Ks. The funeral services will be held at Tyro, probably tomorrow afternoon, and burial will be in Robbins cemetery. Mr. Wells had been living with his children for several years. He was an early resident of this section of the United States and visited Coffeyville when it was a mere hamlet, passing through here with a load of apples, it is said. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lizzie Wells, one daughter, Mrs Ed Wright of Wayside, and four sons, Perry of Independence, Claud of Dennis, and Virgil and Lloyd of Coffeyville.

Funeral services for Charles Wesley Wells, pioneer resident of Montgomery county who died yesterday morning at the home of his granddaughter, Mrs Roy Smith, near Wayside, will be conducted in the Tyro Methodist church at 1 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Rev. Roy Kuhns, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in Robbins cemetery, five miles west of Coffeyville. Charles Wesley was in Co. B,35th Inf., Exeter Missouri, during theCivilWar.
He married Sarah Virginia Hall on August 10 1860 in Benton County, Arkansas. They were the parents of five children Sarah Ellen Wells (Mrs. Ed Wright), William Daniel Wells, Josephine Wells (Mrs. William David Nugent), Thomas Jefferson Wells, Perry Ambrose Wells. His second marriage was to Ellen Giles on November 15,1882. His third marriage was to Irena Elizabeth Rozar. They were the parents of seven children son died in infancy, Alfred Virgil Wells, Lillie Mae Wells, Mae D. Wells, Claud Wells, Josiah Wells, Lloyd Dow Wells.
