In the year 1888 she was united in marriage to John Joseph Cubbon of Elizabeth, Illinois. To this union one child was born, Mrs. Cora Alberta Thayer.

In 1889 they moved to Cortland, Nebraska and the year following they moved to a farm south of Nelson. Six years later they moved to a farm south of Nora and then in 1919 they moved back to Nelson. This was their home until 1934 when they moved again to the farm across the road from thier daughter, Mrs. Geo. Thayer.

In October, 1932, she moved to Nora and this was her home until her death.

She leaves to mourn her departure, her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Thayer; two grand daughters, Mrs. Glen Crook and Marie of Nora; three grandsons, Pfc. Ralph L. Thayer of Meridian, Miss., Lt. Lynn E. Thayer of Lebanon, Pa., and A.C.T. John D. Thayer of Santa Ana, Calif. One grand daughter Elda preceded her in death on April 11, 1934, and a grandson John Woodrow on March 4th, 1913. She also leaves three great grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters who live in Illinois, and a cousin, Mrs. Fred Kelly of Nora, besdes (sic) several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Mother Cubbon enjoyed her grand children and great grandchildren, and her son-in-law was a great joy to her and she love him as though he were her own son.

Mrs. Cubbon with her husband joined the Meahodist (sic) Church of Nora in the year 1900, on July 22nd, under the pastorate of C.L. Hamilton. She remained a loyal member throughout her life and was an enthusiastic worker in all departments of the church.

One of the former pastors of the Nora Church said of Mr. and Mrs. Cubbon, "They were two of my best members." She gave a great deal of tender and loving care to the grand daughter Elda, who was ill during much of her life. She was a kind and loving wife, a good mother and grandmother.

The funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Nelson Methodist Church, conducted by Mrs. C.V. PJowell (sic), pastor of the Nora Church, and assisted by Rev. C.M. Foust.

A quartette composed of Mr. and Mrs. James Murphy, Mrs. Bertha Portwood and Jesse Hamel sang, "Will There Be Any Stars," "Sometime We'll Understand" and "Going Down the Valley," Mrs. Leslie Swigart presided at the piano.

The pallbearers were Clyde Gerbeling, Will Youngs, Chester Shipman, Carl and Earl Epley and Eilert Bargen. The body was tenderly laid to rest in the Nora cemetery (sic), where Rev. Clarence V. Powell had charge of the burial services, and was assisted by Rev. C.M. Foust, Rev. James Fowler, and Mrs. Rev. Powell.
