Died at Fredricksburg, VA. First man to register his name as a volunteer in Forsyth County. He lifted the fallen flag in the Battle of Manassas waving it in one hand and his sword in the other.John Miller was the first volunteer from Forsythe county killed in the late war. He was killed at the battle of Fredricksburg, Mary the 4th, 1862. Last week the remains of his brother, Maj. Miller, of the 21st(?) Regiment, who died from the effects of wounds received at Gettysburg, were buried in the same cemetery.
