GAE NELL ANDERSEN

Gae Nell Andersen, 73, of Orem quietly returned home to her Heavenly Father after a courageous battle with a serious illness. She endured with courage and dignity and taught her family and loved ones, by example, the meaning of bravery and unselfishness. She was such a bright, beautiful light that will be missed. She died of complications of diabetes and congestive heart failure.

She was born on March 12, 1934, the youngest and cherished daughter of William Leonard Flint III and Floetta Brown Flint of St. Anthony, Idaho. She grew up on the family ranch in Hamer, Idaho and spent her summers at the family ranch on the Modoc by Dubois, Idaho. She attended schools in St. Anthony, Idaho and when she was in her high school years she was blessed to be an invited member of the Irvin Hathaway family so she could live in town. She loved that family and felt so lucky to have so many "adopted" brothers and sisters. She was active in Drama, Music and Band. Education was a priority in her life. She graduated from Ricks College and Brigham Young University as an English Major and demanded good grammar from her children.

She married Rodney Lelan Andersen December 16, 1967. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple. Her greatest aspiration in this life was to be a good mother and wife. Her home was a shelter and a sanctuary to anyone in need of a haven. She took everyone under her wing that needed a friend, a fix to a broken heart or unconditional love or approval. She had a gift of a kind heart and uplifted anyone that crossed her path.

She faithfully served in her church as a dance director, activities chairman, Young Women's President and in the Stake Relief Society at BYU. Whenever a program, party or production was planned, Gae Nell was always the one to make it spectacular. Service was a way of life and she served with her whole heart. She was a council member on the Orem Community council and served in many capacities to make our schools a better place.

She valued her close relationship with her only brother, Reed Flint of Bountiful and his children. She has nurtured a deep friendship with her childhood girlfriends of over 60 years, Clayta, Bernice, Barbara, Carla, and Margie. She will forever be famous for her quick wit and delightful sense of humor. She had the wisdom of Job and was loyal and trusting.

She is survived by her husband, Rodney L. Andersen, children: Christine (Tom) Erickson of St. Anthony, Idaho; Linda (Evan) Tibbitts of St. Anthony, Idaho; Sheila (Von) Kunz of Blackfoot, Idaho; Jerryne (Curtis) Turnbull of Orem; Rodney L. (Elisa) Andersen Jr. of Lehi, Utah. She issurvived by 20 precious grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren, her brother Reed Flint of Bountiful, Ut. And beloved nieces and nephews, many friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by a daughter Lynette Remington, her parents and sister-in law, Betty Flint.

The family would like to extend our appreciation to her home health care nurses that were so gentle and treated her so kindly, Jill , Becky, Robyn, Annette, Margaret , and Heidi and her aides, Maryann and Ginsylva.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 3, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. in the Cherry Hill LDS Chapel located at 1650 South 200 East in Orem, Ut. Friends and family may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Funeral Home, 495 South State Street in Orem and also Monday one hour prior to the services at the ward chapel.
