Herman C. Earick, 86, formerly of 500 S. Roosevelt Ave., Piqua, died on Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at 10:13 am in Upper Valley Medical Center. He was born in Piqua on March 4, 1919 to the late Elmer and Ethel Laughman Earick. He married Dorothy L. Strickling on October 25, 1944 in Bradford; she preceded him in death on December 21, 2003.

Survivors include a brother, Arthur Earick of Yorba Linda, Calif.; three half brothers, Bernard Earick of Dayton, Kenneth Earick and Glen Earick both of Piqua; two nieces, Nancy and Richard Callison of Piqua, Patricia Mitchell of Reedley, Calif.; and three great nieces and nephew, Jana and Bill Bigham, Jill Williams, and Rick and Lydia Callison. He was preceded in death by a son, a half brother, and a half sister.

Mr. Earick retired in 1984 from the Piqua Office of the United States Postal Service. He was a United States Army veteran having served during World War II.

A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, April 16, 2005 at 10:00 am in the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Rev. Edward Ellis officiating. Private burial will be in Casstown Cemetery.
