William Paxton was the son of John Paxton, Jr. and Mary Martha Blair. He married Elizabeth Ann Stuart and they had a five children. They were: John, James, William Elizabeth and Jean Stuart (Mrs. Alex. S. Hall).
In his will dated Apr 7, 1817 and probated May 5, 1817, William left the property he had inherited from William Paxton in 1759, to James Paxton. Will Book 4, page 245.
