Amos had enlisted in the Marines Reserves
29 December 1965,at a Macon Recruiting
Office in GA.
When Willie went into active duty he was sent
to Vietnam and was assigned to the 1st
Platoon of Hotel Company,2nd Battalion,1st
Marine Regiment,1st Marine Division.Hotel
Company was participating in Operation Yell,
9 kilometers east of Dai Loc when the Marines
encountered hostile forces.Willie died as a
result of gunshot wounds to the body from
hostile rifle fire.
Tour of duty unknown.
Survived by his wife,Helen R Amos and his
son; Crandon H Amos of 850 Chappell Rd,Apt
5,Atlanta,GA amd his mother;Rosie Amos of
650 Lake Lane,Atlanta,GA.
His father was deceased,Hosea Amos Jr.
