Frances Michael Miller
Asheville -- Frances Michael Miller, 95, of Asheville, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Aston Park Health Care Center. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Lena Carrigan Michael. She was a life long member of Central United Methodist Church of Asheville, a graduate of UNC Greensboro and a dedicated school teacher at the Claxton and Randolph Elementary schools. She also enjoyed working and meeting people at the Culberson Studio of photography. She loved her family and is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Frances Norman and her husband, Jeff, of Enterprise; and two grandchildren, Jeffrey Norman and his wife, Shannon, of Wake Forest and Noelle Norman of Birmingham, Ala. She was predeceased by her son, John in 2000; her first husband, B. A. Pop Culberson in 1975; and her second husband, Sanford Miller who died in 1993. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 8, in the chapel of Morris Funeral Home, 304 Merrimon Ave., with the Rev. Christen Matlick officiating. The burial will follow at Calvary Episcopal churchyard in Fletcher. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Morris Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 31 College Place, Suite 100, Asheville, 28801 or the Alzheimers Association, 3 Louisiana Ave., Asheville, 28806.
