Irene E. Abar, 82, of North Syracuse, passed away Wednesday. Born in Underwood, PA, she was a secretary, with Gallagher Bassett of New York, Inc. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert L. Abar; her daughter, Yvonne M. (Pe-ter) Kenyon of Baldwinsville; grandsons, Michael of South Riding, VA, and Richard of Baldwinsville; sisters, Ann Ayres of Papillion, NB, and Margaret Carson of Burleson, TX; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be 9 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2008, at Maurer Funeral Home, with entombment to follow in Sunset Atrium West of Woodlawn Mausoleum, Syracuse. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2008, at the funeral home, 300 Second St., Liverpool. Contributions may be made to Father Champlin's Guardian Angel Society, 259 E. Onondaga St., Syracuse, NY 13202.
