On Saturday afternoon last, Mr. Olney Albee, residing on Steuben street, in this village, walked down to Robert Jones' barber shop to get shaved, and returning home immediately after, was splitting wood in the rear of his house, when he went inside and told his wife his head felt bad and he would like down. Mrs. Albee thought it nothing unusual and turned to leave the room when she was attracted by a strange noise from where Mr. Albee lay. On going back she realized that her husband's condition was alarming, and before medical aid could be summoned he was dead
Mr. Albee has been a resident of this village about nine or ten years, having moved here from his farm in Tuscarora where he had spent the most of his life up to that time. It is said of him that in the sixty-four years of life he had done hard work enough to make him twenty-five years older, and this fact is probably the cause of the final breaking down of a strong constitution and the heart disease from which he has suffered more or less during the last few years, and which was finally the cause of his sudden death. He had the respect of the community in which he lived, leading as he did a quiet, Christian life.

Mr. Olney Albee, died suddenly of heart disease last Saturday, at his residence in Addison. The funeral service was held at the Freewill Baptist Church, May 14, Elder Peck officiating, assisted by Rev. D.W. Gates, of Addison, N.Y., text, 8th chapter, 4th verse of Proverbs. Thus the Baptist church as lost a faithful and zealous member and all Christian Denominations a faithful Brother. Well did the Elder say in his sermon "upon whom shall his mantle fall?"
