Lewis B. Zimmerman Sr., 74, of William Penn Avenue, Pennsville, died Tuesday in Salem County Memorial Hospital following a long illness.

Mr. Zimmerman, a native of Centre Grove, had lived most of his life in the Pennsville area.

An operator for the DuPont Chambers Wroks, he had retired in 1972 with 37 years of service.

He was a member of the DuPont Veterans Association, Trinity United Methodist Church and Salem County Sportmen's Club.

Surviving are his wife, Hazel B. (nee Harris), to whom he had been married for 55 years; two daughters, Doris B. Jaeger and Laura M Phillips; one son, Lewis B. Jr., all of Pennsville; a brother, Wilson J. of Chambersburg, Pa.; one sister, Laura Loveland of Harrisonville; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at the Laughrey Funeral Home, 1 N. Broadway, Pennsville, where friends may call one hour prior to services.

Burial will be in Lawnside Cemetery, Woodstown.
