July 27, 1878 issue of Petersburg Observer:
-A little son of David Clemens, who resides northeast of here, met with an accident one day last week which resulted in his death Sunday evening. While playing with a pair of scissors the little fellow ran one of the points into his ankle, near the joint. Inflammation ensued, and resulted in death as above.
-Died. At Indian Creek, on the 22nd inst., Francis Marion, son of David and Mary Clemens, aged 5 years.
