OBITUARY - April 15, 1957

BURR -- John Burr, 83, of 804 West Sixty-ninth terrace, died last night at the Veterans Administration hospital, where he had been a patient the last five months. He made his home here with a daughter, Mrs. Marion Burr Schryver. Mr. Burr had lived in Kansas City about 10 years. He was a veteran of the Spanish-American war and World War I. He also leaves another daughter, Mrs. Alice Schwem, Los Angeles; three sons, W. J. Burr, Wittier, California; Ned Burr, Homewood, Illinois and G. R. Burr, Normal Illinois; two half sisters, Miss Myrtle Colbert, Chicago and Mrs. Gertrude Campbell, Des Moines and 10 grandchildren. Services will be at 11:30 o'clock Monday at the Methodist church in Mason, Illinois; burial in the Mason cemetery.
