Jane was born in Scotland. She married Augustus Haselbauer on 19 June 1868 in Edinburgh. Augustus, Jane and their first child, also Augustus, came to the United States in October of 1869. They lived in Brooklyn until the company Augustus worked for moved to Corning NY. While in Corning Augustus and Jane had three more children, James, John and Theresa.
After Augustus died in 1893 Jane married James Spencer. She is buried with her first husband.
