Theodore served in the Civil War twice, originally in Company K, 78th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry; finally mustered out of 78th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, Co. I.
According to pension papers filed by Isabel Snyder after the death of her husband, during the lengthy disposition process, information came forth that Theodore had been previously (right after the Civil War) been married to one Ella Crossley but that marriage did not last but a few days and Theodore was jailed for a few days. During that time Ella disappeared along with her family, never to be heard from again.
