Mabel M. Aberisk, age 79 of Danbury, wife of Michael Aberisk, died Thursday morning, July 3, 2008 at Danbury Hospital. Mrs. Aberisk was born in Danbury, October 18, 1928, daughter of George and Anna (Jabbour) Shaker. She attended Danbury schools and graduated from Danbury High School, Class of 1946. A secretary and office manager, Mrs. Aberisk was employed at the former Fairfield Hill State Hospital, Sperry Rail Service and retired from Chayes Dental Instrument Co. as their office manager. She was a member of the former Y.W.S.L.S. (Young Women's Syrian Lebanese Society), the Ma-Asser Society, St. George Antiochian Church and its Ladies Society. A devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend, she will be sorely missed. In addition to her husband, Michael of 58 years, she is survived by a daughter, Lynda Earton of Aurora, Colo. and her husband, Rob; a brother, Eugene Shaker of Cocoa, Fla. and his wife, Jane; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Aberisk, in addition to her parents, was predeceased by a sister, Janet Ramey and by a brother, Henry Shaker. The Rite of Burial will take place Monday at 11 a.m. in St. George Antiochian Church, 125 Kohanza Street, Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury. The family will receive friends Monday after 9:30 a.m at St. George Church. Contributions to St. George Church Building Fund would be appreciated. Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury is in charge of arrangements.
