Illetta Mae (Teague) Barclay
Illetta Mae (Teague) Barclay, 74, of Sioux City died Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at her residence.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Berkemier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Merrill G. Muller of Wesley United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in McCook Cemetery, North Sioux City. Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Illetta was born March 22, 1934, to Lemual and Audra (Roe) Teague in Schaller, Iowa. She grew up and attended high school in Schaller, graduating in 1952. She moved to South Sioux City in 1955. She moved to Riverside in 1956, and had been a lifelong resident of Sioux City ever since.
On May 7, 1955, she married George F. Barclay in Dakota City, and was a homemaker. She was raised in the Presbyterian faith.
Illetta was a Sunday school teacher, enjoyed camping, fishing, puzzles, word searches, social outings, coffee hour, dancing, professional wrestling, soap operas, bird watching, pets and collecting salt and pepper shakers.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Franklin Barclay and Darrold Barclay; a daughter, Avis and Rick Spidell; four grandchildren, Craig, Trista, Ciara and Troy; three great-grandchildren, Logan, Blaine and Zane; six brothers; and four sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Marjorie Ann Barclay.
