Mrs. Sara Goff Whitaker, 87, resident of Brookside Drive, died Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon, Thursday, at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with John Vaughan and Wendell Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com.

Memorials may be made to Columbia Academy.

The Franklin County native was the daughter of the late Erb J. Goff, Sr. and Stella Combs Goff. She was married to Francis Eugene Whitaker, founder and president of Columbia Neon, who preceded her in death September 20, 1995 after fifty-nine years of marriage. She was a 1934 graduate of Huntsville High School in Huntsville, Alabama. She was a homemaker and member of Graymere Church of Christ.

Survivors include two daughters, Sue W. Blocker and Cynthia W. Page both of Columbia; one sister, Charlcie Habermel of Columbia; one brother, Forrest Allen (Jean) Goff of Surprise,
Arizona; four grandchildren, Suzanne Viar, Todd (Linda) Blocker, Courtney Gibbs (Garry) Love, David Gibbs all of Columbia; amd five great-grandchildren, Bethany Viar, Jennifer Viar, Kelsey Blocker, Katie Blocker and Abby Love all of Columbia.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Juanita Logue and one brother, Erb J. Goff, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Todd Blocker, David Gibbs, Charles Stofel, Garry Love, II, Eugene Layne, David Craige, Bob Thomas and Shelby Carpenter.
