Barry Grunow , a well liked and dedicated teacher,taught English at Lake Worth Middle School in Lake Worth, Florida from August, 1993 until May 26, 2000. He was tragically shot and killed by Nathaniel Brazill, a student, on May 26 while teaching.Mr.Grunow, according to Nathaniel wasn't his first target.He had brought the gun to school to kill a guidance counselor who had sent him home for a water balloon fight on the last day of school.But when Brazill returned to scool the next day and Mr.Grunow refused to let him talk to some friends , Nathaniel shot him. Brazill was sentenced to 28 years in prison.Mr.Grunow was a teacher, coach, father, role model, colleague and friend to all.
