James Arthur Carver, 91, of Van, Texas, died Monday in a Tyler hospital.

Funeral services were set for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Rock Hill Baptist church near Brownsboro. Rev. Bobby Conner will officiate.

Eubank Funeral Home in Canton is handling funeral arrangements.

Burial will be in the Rock Hill cemetery.

Mr. Carver was born February 22, 1892 in Henderson county. He lived in the Rock Hill community all his life. He was a retired fireman, and member of the Rock Hill Baptist church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Hattie Jackson Carver of Van; one son, Macon Carver of Brownsboro; two daughters, Jo McCurley of Kilgore and Lou Carnahan of Brownsboro; three brothers, Code Carver of Chandler, Roy Carver of Willis and Wade Carver of Belton, Texas; nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
