McAdoo Community lost another of her longtime residents when Fern Pullen was claimed by death at 1 a.m. last Thursday in St. Mary's Hospital, Lubbock. She had experienced a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Pullen, 82, had been a McAdoo resident 63 years.

Memorial services were at 1 p.m. Saturday in the McAdoo Church of Christ with Allen Fowler, minister, and Leonard Dennis, former minister, officiating.

Interment was made in McAdoo Cemetery. Adams Funeral Home directed arrangements.

The former Fern McCarty was born in Hico. She was married to Walter Leak Pullen, Jan. 9, 1916 in Afton. Mr. Pullen preceded his wife in death Feb. 3, 1975.

Survivors include four sons, Lewis Pullen of Spur, Elzy Pullen of Midland, Oris Pullen and Olene (Huck) Pullen, both of McAdoo; a daughter, Dorothy Pitts of Abilene; a brother, Loran McCarty of Midland; two half-brothers, Billy McCarty of Odessa and Dwayne McCarty of Tennison; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
