She died of tuberculosis in her St. Leo, Florida home. Her maiden name was Schmidt, but appears as Smith on some documents. The obituary states that the Grieshop's moved to Florida in 1907, however multiple sources indicate that the family move was in 1917. In addition to to her husband and 8 children she was survived by a sister, Mrs. M.J. Hemmers of Salina, Ohio; a brother, Joe P. Schmidt of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and a half-brother, William McFarian of New Western, Ohio.
