Son of Jeremiah & Bridget (Kissane) Davis. Brother of John, Richard, Thomas and Frederick. Married Jennie E. Baker on August 02, 1880 in Saginaw. Father of Edna, Lester, May, Ray, Norman and Alma. Attended Valparaiso Prep School for Teachers. Worked as a rural Teacher.

Justice Jeremiah Davis, 81, lifelong resident of Kochville Township, died Tuesday at his home there. He was a former teacher and had served as justice of the peace. Mr. Davis was born Dec. 10, 1857, in Kochville, and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeremiah Davis, pioneer settlers of the county. During his lifetime he saw his native township develop from a forest into a prosperous farming community. He attended Valparaiso preparation school for teachers in Valparaiso, Ind., and for several years taught rural schools. He was a successful farmer and was a carpenter, building several barns in the county. Mr. Davis married Miss Jennie E. Baker in 1880. He leaves his wife, three daughters, one son, and five grandchildren. Friends may see Mr. Davis at the Case Chapel.

Saginaw News, Wednesday, February 1, 1939, page 11 - The funeral of Jeremiah Davis will take place at 2 p.m. Friday at the Case chapel. Rev. James Deeg of Kochville M. E. church will officiate and burial will be in Oakwood. Mr. Davis, 81-year-old native of Kochville, who died Tuesday, leaves his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Fred Dockstader of Kochville, Mrs. D. W. Patterson of Zilwaukee and Mrs. Gordon Henry of St. Clair Shores, one son, Raymond Davis of Burt, two brothers, Richard and Fred Davis of Kochville and five grandchildren.
