ELYSBURG — Frances Catherine (Kopitsky) A'Zary, 89, of 329 Taft Road, Cleveland Township, Columbia County died Saturday, June 7, 2008, in her residence.

She was born in the same residence of her death on July 17, 1918 and was the daughter of the late Felix and Frances (Korncavage) Kopitsky.

Frances resided in Kulpmont from 1938 to 1948, when she moved back to her present address in Elysburg. She worked at Hanover Foods in Bloomsburg and also was a homemaker.

On Nov. 22, 1938 in St. Mary's Church, Kulpmont, she married the late Michael A'Zary who preceded her in death on Feb. 19, 1980. She was educated in Wynn School, Cleveland Township.

She was a member of the Queen of Most Holy Rosary Church in Elysburg and formerly a member of St. Mary's, now Church of the Holy Angels in Kulpmont. She was a past member of Council of Catholic Women and Altar Rosary Society. She enjoyed canning, crocheting and was an avid gardener.

Survivors include four children, Dr. Edward Paul A'Zary and his wife, Mary Ann of Danville; Barbara Mae Splitt and her husband, Gerald of Elysburg; Dr. Peter A'Zary and his wife, Dr. Elizabeth of Chambersburg; and his twin sister, Mary Frances A'Zary, with whom Frances resided; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Josephine Faux of Catawissa and Anna Spishock of Coal Township; two sisters-in-law, Mary A'Zary of Manhassett, N.Y. and Catherine Kopitsky of Bloomsburg RD; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Michael George A'Zary on April 15, 1975; three sisters, Dorothy Joline, Martha Maciejewski and Elizabeth Rzeplinski; two brothers, John and Felix Kopitsky; and a sister-in-law, Eleanor Oross.

A'ZARY — Frances Catherine (Kopitsky) A'Zary, 89, of 329 Taft Road, Elysburg. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott St., Kulpmont, with Father Al Sceski officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kulpmont. Viewing will be held Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. with the Rosary at 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9 to 10:45 a.m. in C.J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 1053 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, C.J. Lucas, supervisor.
