Ruth Lillian Croushorn was 97 when she died at the home of her caretakers, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Witmer. She was a lifelong resident of Augusta County (mailing address Weyers Cave) and was a farmer, along with her brother Tracy, and was a member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church. Her parents were George Nicholas Croushorn and Lettie Landes Croushorn. At the time of her death she was survived by a sister, Ruby Croushorn Bailey of Mt. Sidney and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Croushorn Alexander and two brothers, Marvin N. Croushorn and Tracy E. Croushorn. Ruth never married but lived on the old homestead with her brother Tracy and farmed the land. She was a woman who seemed to remind you of what a pioneer woman might have been like - tough, strong, healthy, determined.
