Virgil C. Bailey, 81, of Leesburg, died Monday, February 19, 2007 at HCA PalmyraMedical Centers following an illness.His funeral service will be THURSDAY 2 PM at Kimbrell-Stern with interment atCrown Hill Cemetery with the Walter Burt American Legion Post 30 providing militaryhonors. The Revs. Wayne Johnson and Ron Perry will officiate.A native of Fyffe, AL, Mr. Bailey lived in Fitzgerald from 1971 until 2003 when hemoved to Leesburg. He was a Navy veteran of WWII, serving in the South Pacific, andwas a member and Past Commander of the American Legion Post 99Survivors include his wife: Betty S. Bailey, Leesburg; 5 children: Sharon Bailey Evansand her husband Steve, Albany, Lea Bailey Johnson and her husband Wayne, Buford,GA, Kelley Ann Bailey, Buford, GA, Tina Bailey Harris and her husband Rhett, SouthBend, IN, David Parks Bailey and his wife Blake, Leesburg; 9 grandchildren: KristenEvans, Anna Beth Evans, Ashley Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Emery Harris, BaileyHarris, Evan Bailey, Jackson Bailey, Asher Bailey; 2 sisters: Grace Traylor, Fyffe, AL,Mary Ruth McBee, Daytona Beach, FL.The family will receive friends at Kimbrell-Stern Wednesday from 6-7:30 PM.Those desiring may send memorials to the Alzheimer's Association, 1512-1 Gillionville,Rd., Albany, GA 31707.
