Charles G. Armstrong, 65, 1006 Kellogg Place, died Sunday afternoon after an extended illness.
He was born in Kniman, Ind., Sept. 25, 1894, the son of Charles H. and Mary E. (Lewark) Armstrong. On June 22, 1942, in Roselawn, Ind., he married Minnie Bormann, who survives.
Armstrong had resided in Valparaiso for 17 1/2 years, coming from Wheatfield.
Surviving besides the widow are five sons, Randy and Charles Jr., of Valparaiso; Mearle and Bernard of Rensselaer; and Jimmie of Elwood, Ind.; four daughters, Mrs. Wilma Miller and Mrs. Genevieve Hundt, both of Valparaiso; Mrs. Maude Horton, Walter Valley, Miss., and Mrs. Ruth Jaramillo, Leadville, Colo., and one stepdaughter, Mrs. Helen Clutts of DeMotte.
He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; one brother, Wright Armstrong, DeMotte; and two sisters, Miss Maude Armstrong, Sturgis, Mich., and Mrs. Pearl Hayes, Howe, Ind. He was preceded in death by one son and one brother.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Bartholomew Funeral home with burial in Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
