A 16 year old lady, Miss Della Mae Phelps, married a gentleman 10 years her senior, Mr. William Perryman Grider. From this union 12 children were born.

They are; FRANK EWING, HERMAN L., RUSSELL, RAYMOND, WALLACE, AND HOLLIS. All GRIDER'S.

THE GIRLS ARE; NELLIE DUNBAR, MOLLIE JONES, ANNIE COFFEY, FANNIE McKINLEY, NANNIE CAMPBELL, AND BABY NONA GRIDER.

The house pictured to the right was Grandma and Grandpa's home. Grandma lived in the same house all her adult life. She had all her children in that house and died in it.

Grandma had never been to a doctor until her late 80's.

Grandma's adult daughter, Nellie, died of cancer,(her husband Rural Dunbar, had already died from Tuberculosis). Grandma Grider raised their little girl, Alpha.

Grandma was always calm. I never heard her raise her voice. She worked from daylight to dark. At the end of the day, she and my Uncle Hollis, who lived with her, would go out on the front porch and sit in the dark, talk a little, but mostly sit and listen to the night creature's. I loved it.

They would go to bed after an hour or two outside. Then up at dawn and begin all over again.

They are all in Heaven now. God bless each of them.

THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART, GOD'S SPECIAL ANGEL, FOR SPONSORING MY GRANDMA'S MEMORIAL. YOU ARE TRULY A SPECIAL ANGEL TO ME.
