STANFORD - Granville Hayward Southerland, 63, of Nicholasville passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2008, in Lexington.

Born Sunday, Jan. 7, 1945, in Stanford, Ky., to the late Hayward Southerland and Noreen Carrier Peck of Waynesburg, Granville worked for General Motors, IBM and retired as an iron worker from Local 44 Iron Workers Union. He loved storms and watching the weather. After residing in Cincinnati for many years, he became an avid Bearcats and Bengals fan.

Granville was preceded in death by his father, Hayward; and a brother, David.

Granville leaves behind his daughter, Ruth Ann Schulz and her husband Tony of Fairfield, Ohio; his mother, Noreen Peck and her husband Cecil of Waynesburg; two sisters, Agatha Patterson and her husband Ron of Stanford, and Ruth Souleyrette and her husband Roy of Lexington; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of Life service is 3 p.m. today at Fox Funeral Home with the Rev. David Gambrel officiating. Burial will be private in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Greg Reed, Ronnie and Steve Patterson, Jeff and Doug Souleyrette, and Jonathan, Andrew and Robert Brock will serve as the pallbearers.
