Thelma Gladys Kitchings, age 97, was called home by Jesus on Friday, March 07, 2008. She passed peacefully at her residence at Blumenthal Nursing Home in Greensboro, N.C. surrounded by her family.
Thelma is the oldest of four daughters. She is survived by her son, Earl Thomas, granddaughter, Dianne McClamroch and husband Julian McClamroh, four grandchildren, Joe McClamroch, Chris McClamroch, Michelle M. McColl and husband Matt McColl, and Phil McClamroch, three great-great grandchildren, Spencer, Emily, and Tyler McColl, two sisters Ruth Wilson and husband Ralph Wilson, Oleta Maxwell and husband Erskine Maxwell. She has seven nephews, Jim Driver, Don Driver, Mike Driver, Paul and Harold Maxwell, Wendell, and Adrian Wilson, and two nieces Nancy Spainhour, Patricia McIntyre,
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ida and William Bryson, her sister, Zelma Driver, and her daughter-in-law, Norma Thomas.
She loved life, music, beautiful birds, animals, and nature, was an avid reader and walked two miles a day until age eighty-nine.
We will miss her.
The graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, March10, 2008 at Alamance Memorial Park by Dr. Dale Steele. The family will receive friends 10-10:45 AM Monday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.
