Roland W. "Jolly" Long Jr., 76, of Greensburg RD2, died Wednesday, June 23, 2004, in I.H.S. of Greater Pittsburgh at Greensburg. He was born Dec. 1, 1927, in Hannastown, a son of the late Roland Sr. and Minta (Bish) Long. Prior to retirement, he had been employed by the Hempfield Area School District, and was a member of the Greensburg Alliance Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jane Falbo. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Eleanor A. (Thomas) Long; a daughter, Lisa Shaffer and her husband, Robert, of Jeannette; two granddaughters, Kristina and Victoria Shaffer; a brother, Edward Long and his wife, Joyce, of Greensburg; a sister, Ethel Fenton and her husband, Wade, of Scottdale; several nieces and nephews; and three special friends, Michael Rosensteel, of San Diego, Calif., David Rosensteel, of Elizabethtown, and Scott Cycak, of Jeannette. Friends will be received at the BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg, Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. William Underwood officiating. Interment will follow in St. Clair Cemetery, Hempfield Township.
