Lois Bethune

Lois Pearl Bethune, 93, a longtime resident of the Chattanooga area, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2008, in a local hospital.

A native of Fyffe, Ala., she was a member of East Lake Baptist Church for many years before moving to the McDonald, Tenn., area. Mrs. Bethune was retired from Burlington Mills following many years of service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Bethune; sister, Lorene Cain; and brother, Clarence Lance.

Survivors include her sons, James D. and Rayford E. Bethune, both of McDonald, Billy R. and David Bethune, of East Ridge; sisters, Gladys Skelton, of Red Bank, and Marie Patton, Detroit, Mich.; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren are also left to cherish her memory.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the South Crest Chapel with the Rev. Art Pflug officiating.

Burial will follow in Corinth Baptist Cemetery, Fyffe, Ala.
