Agnes Regina (Piper) Hartley, 89, of Altoona died Monday morning at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Duncansville, daughter of the late Walter E. and Mabel F. (Garland) Piper. She married Theodore T. Hartley June 1, 1940, in Huntingdon. He died Jan. 2, 2007.

Surviving are two daughters: Carole K. and husband, Lyle V. Rea, and Dianne J. and husband, Timothy B. Ingram, all of Altoona; four grandchildren: Joy and husband, Darrell Alt, of Shippensburg, Timothy and wife, Jennifer Ingram, of Newcastle, Del., Lee Ann and husband, Gary Speacht, of Williamsburg, and Melissa and husband, Craig Plants, of Canton, Mich.; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey; and three sisters: Mildred McKillip, Dorothy Shively and Margie Matthews.

Mrs. Hartley was a member of Fifty-Eighth Street United Methodist Church. She was a 1936 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She was a former member of the Delphi Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star and a member of its drill team and a charter member of the Horseshoe Drifters.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Daniel R. Myers Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2008, at the funeral home by Pastor Herb Rice. Interment will be in Carson Valley Cemetery, Duncansville, PA.
