SHERMAN F SORENSEN

Shoshone
Sherman F. Sorensen, 50, of Shoshone, died Thursday from injuries received when a truck backed over him while working on a road project near Malta.

He was born May 18, 1929, at Burmah, Idaho. He lived all his life in Lincoln County, attending schools at Burmah, Richfield and Shoshone. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He farmed for a short time after leaving the service but for the past 23 years has been employed by the Idaho Department of transportation. He was foreman of the special maintenance crew at the time of his death. He married Mary Ann boyd Aug. 8, 1952 at Shoshone. He was serving as commander of Weeks-Yadon Post of the American Legion and belonged to the LDS Church.

Survivors include his wife of Shoshone; two sons, Dale Sorensen of Meridian and Mike Sorensen of Boise; two daughters, Mrs Teresa Trenkle of Twin Falls and Mrs Diane Mecham of Carey; his mother, Lillian Sorensen of Shoshone; four brothers, Wayne Sorensen and Gordon Sorensen, both of Shoshone, Glenn Sorensen of Dietrich and Vernon Sorensen of San Diego; three sisters, Mrs. Frank (Eileen) Morris of Boise, Mrs. Iral (Shirley) Larsen of LaMesa, Calif., and Mrs Elwin (Alice) Webb of Shoshone; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Shoshone LDS Church with Bishop William R. Harris conducting. Military graveside rites will be held in the Shoshone Cemetery. Services are under direction of the Bergin Funeral Chapel.
