He was a truck driver for Calgon. An Army veteran, he served from Aug. 2, 1955, to July 28, 1958. He was a Shenango High School graduate. He was an honorary retired member of Teamsters Union Local 261. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church for more than 55 years.
Relatives: a daughter, Staci McCarthy of Oviedo, Fl.; three sons, Dale Currie of Hulbert, Ok., William Currie of New Castle and Robert Patterson of Portersville; five stepchildren; a brother, Glen Currie of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Patricia Cochran of New Castle and Susan Boilard of Wallingford, Conn.; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
