David L. Bollschweiler, generous, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away on July 12, 2008. He was the love of a lifetime for his wife Brynn. For 46 years their special bond endured. They remained inseparable partners in work and life.

Born July 21, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Charles Bollschweiler and Arlene Ryser. Dave worked at Schocker Construction until a vehicle accident in 1963 left him a paraplegic. With an incredible (and contagious) strength he accomplished going back to school, and starting his own business, Dave's Ability Insurance. Dave's 40-year success with the agency was truly his ability to care for everyone who walked through his door, going above and beyond as would a friend. He never wanted to be seen as disabled; recognized as an advocate in helping others overcome negativity. Dave won National Rehabilitant of the Year in 1968, was a volunteer and president in Easter Seals; a member of the optimist club, Porsche club, wheelchair basketball and tennis teams, and coached many youth sports. He was unprejudiced and unbiased; and taught us that no mountain is insurmountable, and no person unworthy of our attention. Although gone, our Dave, our Dad will remain in our hearts. Those fortunate enough to be touched by this man will never forget him. Love endures.

Survived by his wife, Brynn; children Steven (Diane) Bollschweiler, Corinne (Jim) Wilson, Colin (Denise) Bollschweiler; grandchildren Katrina, Dylan, Cody, Gavin, Haley, Rylie, Kaylene, Alexis, Kyle; siblings Jane Peterson, Carol (Miles) Clarke, Kay Nielson (Dan), Linda (Ray) Badovinatz, Kent (Teresa) Bollschweiler. Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ralph.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 18, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Neil O'Donnell and Sons Mortuary, 372 East 100 South, where Friends may call on Thursday from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
Interment: Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 4th Avenue and T Street.
