Doris Weinreich was a housewife with a growing family while her husband Johnny Weinreich was in the grocery business in Denver in the 1940's and 1950's. She later worked side by side with Johnny while they owned Recreation Lanes bowling alley in downtown Denver. They owned and later built Monaco Lanes in Denver. Johnny passed away in 1974 from complications following surgery to repair an abdominal aneurism. Doris passed away in 1996 from complications of emphysema. Doris and Johnny were married for 37 years.

Doris Leona Finesilver Weinreich (1916-1996) was named for great-grandfather David Louis Carter (1831-1914) . The letters "D" and "L" were used.
