HAYS - John F. Getz, 88, died Nov. 7, 1992, at St. John of Victoria Nursing Home, Victoria. He was horn Jan.27, 1904, at Emmeram, the son of Andrew and Anna Marie Rupp Goetz.

A Hays resident for seven years, he was a retired engineer for the University of Denver and helped build the Hoover Dam. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays.

On Jan. 14, 1933, he married Cyrilla Giebler at Las Vegas. She survives.

Other survivors include: a brother, Bob Goetz, Wheatland1 Wyo.; and two sisters, Josephine Thne. Wheatland, and Martha Pardee, Denver.

Parish vigil service will be at 7:30 p.m. today at Hays Memorial Chapel, Hays. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church Hays, with Father Carl Erame presiding. Friends may call from: to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today a the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Hays.
Memorials may he sent to the church in care of the funeral home.
