Marlyn Louis (Morley) Cook was born, lived, and died on Cooley Street in Grantsville, Utah - a street named after his great-grandfather, John W. Cooley. Morley loved and honored his parents, Robert Hunter Cook and Alice Cooley Cook. He experienced happiness in his childhood home where he worked along side his father and brothers as they farmed and raised cattle and horses. His father taught him the art of breaking and shoeing horses. The family enjoyed time together as they drove their cattle to the summer range at Government Creek. He enjoyed his siblings: Ida Durfee, Mary Durfee, Dan Cook, Pat Cook, and Marva Gustin. Also, there was an abundance of live music in his home, where visitors were always welcome. He married Janet Edwards on Sept. 14, 1956. They loved and supported one another through the sunshine and storms of life for 51 years. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Morley cherished their children, Marion David Cook, Crystal Ann Hair, Paul Edward Cook, and Matthew Patton Cook. He taught them to love the things he did - good humor, good food, sports (especially basketball and football), raising crops, cattle, horses, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and America. Morley worked hard to provide for his family. He was employed at Hercules in Magna for 30 years, finishing his employment there as an electrician. He was Grantville's electrical inspector for several years. He taught electrical apprenticeship classes, as well as barbering classes at Salt Lake Community College. He operated "Morley's Barbershop" on Vine Street in Tooele, Utah. He enjoyed his clientele and often commented, "It's the best job I ever had." Morley is survived by his wife, Janet; sons, David (Holly); Paul (Cory); Matt (Jackie); and daughter, Crystal (Kevin); 15 grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents and all of his siblings.

A Viewing will be held at Tate Mortuary in Tooele, Utah, on Fri., July 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Sat., July 19, at 11:00 a.m. at the Grantsville West Stake Center, 115 East Cherry Street (west of Grantsville High School). A Viewing prior to Services will be held from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the Stake Center.
Interment will be at the Grantsville City Cemetery.
