SYLVESTER R. CLAPPER, an aged resident and retired carpenter of Llyswen, died at his home, 108 Logan avenue, at 8.50 this morning, of an illness resulting from a paralytic stroke. He was born in Carson Valley, July 18, 1847, the son of Emanuel and Sarah C. Clapper.

Mr. Clapper was married to Margaret J. Stiffler on Feb. 5, 1880. He is survived by the following children: Ethel L., Clifford E., Ross E. and Clair N., all at home, Harvey E. and Earl D. of Llyswen, Ralph A. and Nelson F. of Altoona and Mrs. Cora E. Miller of Lewistown.

He was a member of the First Lutheran church of this city.

Funeral services will be held at the family home at 2.30 Monday afternoon with Rev. Mario Justus Kime officiating. Private interment in Carson Valley Cemetery.
