Jessie "Lee" Davis, 93, was born July 28, 1914, in Kiowa County to Sarah Ann (Moon) Davis and James Henry Davis and passed away Monday, July 14, 2008 at English Village Manor Nursing Home in Altus.

He was raised in Kiowa County and attended Soldiers' Spring School. He married Myrtle McElroy in Mangum on June 29, 1937 and was a farmer and carpenter, having farmed in Jackson County for more than 60 years. He enjoyed tending to his cattle, spending time with his family and he especially enjoyed going to music night at the Warren Community Center.

Preceding him in death were two sons, Max Davis in 2000 and an infant son, Don Ray; six brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include his wife Myrtle of the home; a son and his wife, Larry and Judy Davis of Altus; four sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, July 18, 2008 at People's Funeral Chapel officiated by Dennis Osborne and Shannon Davis. Burial will be at Warren Cemetery under the direction of People's Co-operative Funeral Home.
